The Evansville Museum & the Begley Museum Shop present the quarterly First Thursday series. First Thursdays are a meet and greet with an artist during Happy Hour. Artwork will be on display and for sale in the Evansville Museum’s Eykamp Pavilion. The First Thursday on March 3, 2016 will feature Paul Richmond.

Paul Richmond is an internationally recognized visual artist and activist who challenges social constructs that exist around gender and identity. In his War Paint series, reality and abstraction compete within the figurative foundation of each piece to make the subjects’ inner struggles more tangible, the color of their self-made armor exposing more than it conceals. The paintings invite understandings that reach beyond the immediate surface and reveal the complexity of the individual.
