“The Middle of Everything” grew out of a year when I felt both unmoored and unexpectedly alive. I painted a figure alone in a small boat because that’s how I often felt - adrift, unsure of direction, surrounded by moments that were confusing, dark, or strangely bright. But even in the uncertainty, there were flashes of clarity and connection that kept me moving. This piece is about that in-between space: not lost, not found, just navigating the complicated middle where most of life actually happens.
